Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
Among women, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer. If the current rate stays the same, women born today have about a one in eight chance of developing breast cancer at some point during their lives.
At Denver Health, we understand how overwhelming a breast cancer diagnosis can be. If you or a loved one has recently been diagnosed, we are here to help. Contact us today to schedule a consultation or learn more about our services. At Denver Health, we are committed to providing you with compassionate, evidence-based care every step of the way.

Women 40 years old and above who have not had a screening mammogram within the past year should be getting routine breast cancer check ups. Denver Health offers the full spectrum of imaging techniques for detecting and diagnosing breast cancer, including 3D mammograms. We always stress talking to your primary care doctor to determine your risk factors as some women may be recommended for screening earlier than age 40 based on family history.
After getting a mammogram, if your radiologist discovers anything needing further examination, you may be recommended for a same-day biopsy or further testing. We are dedicated to addressing your breast health needs with the greatest clinical expertise, care and compassion.
Meeting our patients where they are to provide important health care screenings is the goal of the Mobile Health Center. We feature the same 3D mammogram technology and exam results are reviewed by the same radiologists who review anyone who gets screened on the main Denver Health campus.
Partnership opportunities available with businesses to come on-site and screen your employees throughout the day. To request a visit, begin by filling out our Community Partnership Form.
Available on-site with a referral from your primary care doctor. Genetic counseling/testing helps determine the risk for cancers that are passed through our family. Denver Health uses a genetic mapping software called Progeny, which contains eight validated risk assessment models to calculate a patient's cancer risk. A counselor can help you develop a plan to manage your risk.
Also known as surgical oncology and breast surgery for cancer, breast surgery is often recommended as treatment after a breast cancer diagnosis. We are here for you with compassionate care, using state-of-the-art techniques and evidence-based medicine to treat benign and malignant diseases of the breast.
For those needing breast surgical oncology to treat breast cancer, we also offer a wide variety of breast reconstruction options that draw on the best medical approach combined with individualized treatment.
As part of your treatment team, Medical Oncology will be closely involved with Breast Surgery, Breast Radiology and Radiation Oncology to provide compassionate, evidence-based care and support throughout your journey. We are a team of experienced oncologists, nurses, nurse navigators, pharmacists and support staff.
