Cardiac Rehab is an important part of the treatment of your specific heart problem. If you have one of the following diagnoses, you may be eligible to participate:
- Heart Attack
- Angina
- Cardiac surgery, such as coronary bypass or valve surgery
- Coronary artery angioplasty or stents
- Heart failure
- Heart transplantation
Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program is supervised by a team of medical experts including a cardiologist, clinical exercise physiologist, and registered nurse.
Once you begin the program, we monitor your progress and share the results with your cardiologist.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Provides Three Services:
- Phase II Cardiac Rehab: Denver Health’s Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation is a AACVPR certified program that provides an individualized and personalized treatment plan, including evaluation and instruction on physical activity, nutrition, stress management, and other health related areas
- Get Moving: A supervised exercise program the helps patients get moving. Get Moving focuses on helping patients create and maintain an exercise program that includes both cardio and strength training. As a six-week program, we meet twice a week for 12 sessions. Various times are offered throughout the week to accommodate busy schedules. The cost is $138.
- Supervised Exercise Therapy (SET) for symptomatic peripheral artery disease: The Supervised Exercise Therapy (SET) program is available for patients with intermittent claudication for the treatment of symptomatic peripheral artery disease (PAD). SET program is up to 36 sessions over a 12-week period. The program focuses on improving functional capacity, walking distance, and quality of life while reducing leg pain.
McNair Study
Denver Health Cardiac Rehab is a participating site for the McNair Study, which focuses on comparing the effectiveness of in person and telehealth cardiac rehabilitation programs for patients with heart conditions.
Meet our Team
Amanda Hajoglou, MS, RCEP, CCRP
Amanda is the lead clinical exercise physiologist at Denver Health cardiac rehab. She has been with Denver Health cardiac rehab since 2010 and has been working in cardiac rehab since 2003.
She received her BA in 2001 from the University of Northern Colorado, with a major in kinesiology with emphasis on fitness and exercise and a master's in clinical exercise physiology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2003.
Amanda enjoys spending her free time outdoors mountain biking and traveling.
Juan Orendain Valencia, MS, CCRP
Juan is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist at Denver Health Cardiac Rehab. He has been with Denver Health since 2022. He received his BS in 2016 from the University of Oklahoma with a major in exercise science and a masters in wellness management (exercise science) from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2020.
Juan enjoys spending his free time outdoors hiking, going to concerts, and discovering the culinary scene.
