Once you know that you are pregnant, you can call our Appointment Center or schedule your first pregnancy or prenatal appointment via our online portal, which we also call an “OB Intake appointment." During this visit, a nurse will review your medical history with you and explain what you can expect throughout your pregnancy.
At this first visit, you will receive a calendar to help you prepare for your new baby and meet some of the Denver Health professionals who will help you understand what to expect during this exciting time in your life and how to have a healthy pregnancy.
Prenatal Appointments
At the end of your first pregnancy appointment, you will schedule a follow-up appointment for a physical exam to begin your prenatal care. When you receive prenatal care at any Denver Health clinic, you can expect the following prenatal appointment schedule:
Week | Appointments |
Between week 8 and week 12 | First prenatal visit, or OB intake visit |
Week 12 through week 36 | Monthly prenatal appointments |
At or near week 20 | Anatomy scan ultrasound at the Women’s Care Clinic |
Week 36 through birth | Prenatal appointments every two weeks |
