The Center for Doula Excellence’s comprehensive training covers education and doula support through pregnancy, childbirth, early postpartum, and breastfeeding. Our birth doula certification course also covers the history of modern doula/birth work, racial inequities and implicit-bias training, and trauma informed care.
Finally, we offer step-by-step guidance on building your own doula business and access to a mentorship program. Birth experience is not needed prior to attending the doula training. This program is recognized by the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing for enrolling as a Health First Colorado (Medicaid) doula provider.
Below are the steps to certification:
- Attendance of 32-hour birth doula training
- Completion of Childbirth Education (materials provided)
- Completion of Breastfeeding Class (included)
- Support of three births with reflections and evaluations
- Read three approved books
- Create a resource list for clients
- Mentorship and alumni group support
