Physician and Facility Services
For billing purposes, and for most of our services, Denver Health is considered a hospital-based provider, which means that Denver Health is required to bill for facility and provider charges. As a result, you will receive one bill that includes both provider and facility charges for your visit at Denver Health.
- Hospital/Facility Fees - any separate charge or billing by a provider-based clinic in addition to a professional fee for physicians' services that is intended to cover building, electronic medical records systems, billing, and other administrative and operational expenses. Learn more about Facility Fees and Colorado House Bill 23-1215 from the Colorado Hospital Association.
To contest a facility charge:
- Professional/Provider Fees - Professional fees are for the work performed by the provider.
