Adolescent & Teen Bariatric Surgery

Welcome to Denver Health's Bariatric Surgery Program, where we're dedicated to helping your child achieve their weight loss goals and improve their overall health and well-being.

Obesity affects 20% of adolescents. Obesity that starts in teenage years can lead to life-long health consequences including: high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, breathing problems (asthma and sleep apnea), joint problems and high cholesterol. The Denver Health Bariatric Surgery Center offers bariatric surgery to older adolescents and young adults ages 16-20. Bariatric surgery can be an effective treatment for many weight-related health issues even when medical and behavioral weight loss programs have failed. We focus on supporting our patients and their families/support team through the process of bariatric surgery and beyond to promote entering adulthood as healthy as possible. We believe that bariatric surgery can be a life-changing experience, and we're excited to help your child embark on this journey towards a health.

Take the first step by filling out the no-obligation form below. Leigh Rieder, our Bariatric Surgery Patient Coordinator, will be in touch within 72 hours to answer any questions you may have and guide you through the process. Let's work together to achieve your weight loss goals and improve your quality of life. Most commercial insurance covers bariatric surgery and Denver Health offers a cash/self-pay option as well.
