Duane Mata, D.D.S
Director of Dentistry Community Health Services
Dr. Duane Mata immigrated to Colorado in the early 70’s from the Philippines. He ran private dental practices in Northern CO and the Denver Metro Area for over 16 years.
Currently, as the Director of Dental Community Health Services at Denver Health he oversees 7 Community Health Center Dental Clinics, 4 School Based Dental Clinics, and the Dental Program in the Denver Jail Systems.
Denver Health currently has two Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited dental programs, a General Practice in Dentistry Residency, and a Pediatric Dental Residency.
The Dental Assisting Training Program is currently seeking initial CODA accreditation.
Eva Butcher
Dental Assistant Instructor, CDA, EDDA
Eva Butcher is originally from the Bronx, New York.
She has over 30 years of dental experience. She has been with Denver Health since 2011.
“I’ve had the pleasure to work with over 80 plus Dental Residents while they completed their residency at Denver Health.”
She has helped to on-board new dental assistants, and she is excited to teach dental assisting by providing applicants with a career.

Victoria Rivere
Dental Assistant Instructor, CDA, EDDA
Victoria Rivere is from New Orleans. She has been in the dental field since 2017, and she brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as a dental assistant instructor for Denver Health.
Her career has taken her through pediatric, private, corporate, hospital, leadership, and now teaching. Her journey into teaching in 2024 marks a new chapter where she aims to inspire and educate the next generation of dental professionals seeking mentorship and growth opportunities. "I still recall impactful lessons from my mentors, and I'm now in a position to guide others with my own voice," Rivere says.
In the classroom, her enthusiasm for both science and health care shine through, and she's excited to contribute to Denver Health's mission of being the most trusted hospital in Colorado.
Brooke Torres
Program Manager for Dental Education, CDA, EDDA
Brooke Torres is a Colorado Native. She has been in the dental field for over 24+ years as a Certified Dental Assistant, Expanded Dental Duties Assistant, Dental Manager, Dental Assisting Instructor, and Program Director for Dental Assisting.
Having worked in every dental specialty as well as general dentistry she is eager to continue to share her knowledge and passion for dentistry.
