Denver Health offers their benefit eligible employees the choice between 3 competitive health and 3 competitive dental plans.
401(a) - Defined Contribution Plan - Mandatory
Instead of paying into Social Security, Denver Health has created a self-directed Social Security Retirement Plan, which deducts pre-tax 6.2% of your earnings automatically (up to annual IRS limits) into your choice of investment options from multiple fund companies including funds from Fidelity Investment who is our trustee and record keeper. Denver Health also contributes 3% of earnings (up to Social Security limits) into your plan.
401(a) - Defined Contribution Plan - Enhanced
In addition to the 401(a) mandatory contributions, Denver Health provides an additional 3% contribution to their 401(a) plan, for employees who are benefit eligible (0.5 FTE or greater). These contributions are 100% vested with 3 years of employment with Denver Health.
457(b) - Deferred Compensation Plan - Optional
Denver Health also offers this voluntary retirement plan, which allows employees to invest more pre-tax or after-tax (ROTH) dollars, up to $19,500 or $26,000 if age 50 and over. Denver Health will match dollar for dollar up to 3.5%. All employees are auto-enrolled in this plan with contributions set at 3.5%. Employees have the option of reducing or opting out of this auto-enrollment. Denver Health's matching contribution is also subject to the 3 year vesting schedule. Other percentage limits of compensation will apply. Refer to the plan document for actual limits. A variety of Fidelity funds are available to meet your investment needs.

Living in Denver, Colorado
A rapidly growing metropolis located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, Denver offers all the amenities of urban living surrounded by unparalleled natural beauty. Outdoor lovers need to look no further than their own backyard for some of the country's best hiking, biking, climbing and skiing. However, those with more of an interest in the arts will find a multitude of museums, performing arts centers, music venues and a burgeoning culinary scene.
Denver is one of only two cities in the United States with eight professional sports teams, ranging from baseball, football, basketball and hockey to soccer and lacrosse.
While Denver proper is composed of an array of diverse neighborhoods, many providers in our group also choose to live in surrounding areas in the foothills and nearby cities such as Golden and Boulder. The central location of Denver Health makes this a feasible and convenient option.
The city's location at the base of the Rockies yields overall mild temperatures with average high temperatures of 45 degrees F and 86 degrees in winter and August respectively. The arid climate translates into low levels of precipitation with only 8-15 inches annually. The city also boasts 300 days of sunshine per year more than Miami or San Diego. This makes outdoor activity in one of the city's 200 parks a year round possibility.
