Denver Public Health
Welcome to the Denver Metro Tuberculosis Clinic

The Denver Metro Tuberculosis Control Program prevents the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and eliminates it as a public health problem in the seven-county Denver metro area including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Jefferson, and Douglas counties.

Our program goals are to:

1.      Identify everyone with suspected or confirmed TB disease and ensure appropriate treatment, including directly observed therapy for all pulmonary TB cases
2.     Ensure that everyone who are at high risk for progressing from infection to active disease (e.g., contacts of active cases, immunocompromised people, recent immigrants from areas with widespread TB) receives treatment for latent TB and does not develop disease

We achieve our goals through direct patient care, education, surveillance and outreach including:
  • Operating a clinic providing state-of-the-art care for persons with suspected or confirmed TB disease and their close contacts, regardless of their ability to pay
  • Setting standards and guidelines and providing consultation on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of TB infection and disease in the Denver metro area
  • Monitoring and documenting the treatment status of all patients with active TB
  • Ensuring that all suspected and confirmed cases of TB identified are reported to the Denver Public Health department
  • Conducting intensive care interviews and maintaining an effective outreach program so that TB cases complete full course of treatment and contacts receive appropriate medical care
  • Providing education and training opportunities to public and private health care providers to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of TB infection and disease in the Denver metro area
