About the Hematology/Oncology Division

The Infusion Center
The Hematology/Oncology Division provides care for adult patients with all types of cancer, such as breast, lung, stomach, bowel, prostate, uterus and cervix, as well as patients with hematological malignancies, such as leukemia, lymphomas and multiple myeloma.

The division also provides care for patients with benign hematological conditions, such as anemia, bleeding and coagulation problems.

The division is staffed by board-certified oncology and hematology physicians as well as a multidisciplinary team that includes a clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner, clinical oncology pharmacist, certified oncology nurses, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, patient navigators and a cancer information and program coordinator.

Services

  • A nine chair infusion center, staffed by oncology certified nurses, serves patients requiring chemotherapy and other infusion therapies.

  • Patient Resource Center and Survivorship Programs

The Denver Health Cancer Resource Center is supported through a grant from the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Cancer patients and families can find information about treatment and survivorship issues related to their disease in the center. The Resource Center hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Contact Barbara Schwendler, coordinator, at 303-436-3410, for location and information about upcoming programs.
