Denver Health's school-based health centers provide primary care, health education and mental health care for students at 12 Denver elementary, middle and high schools. These clinics expand access, provide preventive medicine and help children stay in school while offering a convenient way for parents to ensure their children get quality physical and mental heath attention. More than 6,400 students receive services through the clinics each year.
School health center team members include physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, mental health therapists and substance prevention counselors. Denver Health operates the school-based health centers in collaboration with Denver Public Schools, Arapahoe House, Mental Health Corporation of Denver and the University of Colorado School of Nursing.
The school-based health centers are a division of Denver Community Health Services.
