Denver Metro Health (STD) Clinic Standing Orders

Denver Metro Health (STD) Clinic Standing Orders

The Denver Metro Health Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Clinic Standing Orders are the protocols used by our clinicians to diagnose, treat and manage sexually transmitted diseases and other related conditions. Updated regularly, the DMHC Standing Orders are based on the most recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including the latest STD Treatment Guidelines. They also incorporate the latest evidence-based STD medical information. The Standing Orders are posted online as a public resource for other STD control programs, clinics and providers who may want to implement similar protocols or who may use the DMHC protocols as a reference.

Standing Orders which have been revised in accordance with the 2006 STD Treatment Guidelines have the date of revision in the title visible on this page. For orders still in the midst of the current revision cycle, the date of the most recent revision is on each individual document. Additionally, we use epidemiologic data from our own clinic to help determine best practice in our setting; if we have done so, that data will be noted in the 'Background' section of the protocol. Similarly, if we have used other crucial references in revising the protocol, that will be referenced in the 'Background' section.
