
He received his Ph.D. in the field of Anatomy in 2003.
Dr. Gurunluoglu completed his microsurgery fellowship in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation between 2000-2001.
He worked as a staff plastic surgeon in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Leopold-Franzens University, Innsbruck, Austria, between 2002-2003, where his main interest became breast surgery (breast augmentation, reduction, mastopexy, body contouring surgeries (mastopexy, panniculectomy, thoracobrachoplasty) after gastric by-pass surgery in weight loss patients, and reconstructive microsurgery that includes lower leg reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction, and breast reconstruction using freeTRAM and DIEAP flaps. He became an Associate Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, in Turkey, 2004. Same year he got certified by the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, in Portugal.
Dr. Gurunluoglu started working as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Denver Health Medical Center, University of Colorado Health Sciences Center since 2006. He was awarded the degree of Associate Professorship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr.Gurunluoglu has numerous published papers in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed significantly to the plastic surgery literature with his scientific works.
