The Denver Emergency Center for Children is an urgent and emergency center open 24 hours a day to care for the most severe injuries and illnesses and medical care.
The Center is equipped with all private rooms and is specially designed for children.
Our staff of experienced pediatric specialists are dedicated to creating a comfortable and healing experience for children. Our dedicated resource staff provides radiology, laboratory, anesthesiology and surgical support for children as well. Child Life Specialists are on hand to ease children's fears and help make medical procedures fun for children.
The Center is designed especially for the needs of small children:
The highly-qualified Emergency Medicine physicians specialize in pediatric emergency, trauma and urgent care and all nurses have completed special training in pediatrics.
In addition to pediatricians, the Pediatric Trauma Team includes pediatric RNs, a pediatric pharmacist, a pediatric anesthesiologist, a pediatric radiologist, a social worker, respiratory therapists and a recreational therapist, all of whom have extensive experience in meeting the special needs of children. The team focuses on helping children achieve a speedy recovery and receive the appropriate follow-up care and/or necessary rehabilitation.
Denver Health and The Children’s Hospital (TCH) have an agreement to ensure accessible and top-quality trauma, inpatient, intensive care and neonatal care for children, and most of our pediatricians also practice at the Children's Hospital in Denver.
