The ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders specializes in treating the most medically compromised eating disorder patients with a goal of providing medical stability to continue on to the next step in their journey in recovery.
As inpatient hospital program, we are fairly selective in the patients we can accept into the program.
We can only accept the most medically compromised patients and those who are ready and willing to work towards recovery, respecting that this may be a very anxiety-filled decision.
- Patients ages 17 and older
- Patients weighing less than 70% of their ideal body weight, OR
- Have serious medical co-morbidities such as electrolyte or fluid problems, organ failure, previous bouts of refeeding syndrome, etc.
- Patients should have plans to transition to an inpatient or residential treatment program after being stabilized at the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders.
- Patients must have privately held insurance. The ACUTE Center bills under the medical insurance benefit, not the psychiatric benefit. The ACUTE Center has a dedicated insurance team to work with a number of insurers and can almost always generate a one-time agreement if needed.
