The ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders is a safe and secure 5-bed medical inpatient unit housed within Denver Health Medical Center.

Every private room is equipped with state-of –the-art medical equipment, wireless Internet access, telephone, and an area for family members to visit comfortably.

The inpatient unit provides around-the-clock technologically advanced critical care from specially trained nurses and board-certified internists.

Denver Health is located near Denver's downtown area and close to hotels for family members.

How many patients are in a room?
 
Every room is private with one patient per room.
 
What is the visiting policy?
 
Typically, Denver Health welcomes visitors from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday.
 
As an inpatient hospital, Denver Health occasionally has visitor restrictions during times of pandemic.
 
Will I have free time? Who will I interact with?
 
Most of the day is free and quiet, so you will have plenty of free time. During the day, you will be visited by nurses, certified nurse assistants and medical doctors.
 
Will I be able to leave my room?
 
Yes, as you become medically stabilized, you will be allowed to go downstairs in the hospital and do more physical activity on the ward.
 
How is laundry done?
 
Denver Health has a staff that assists with this on site.
 
What media and technology can I bring with me?
 
Laptops and cell phones are fine (each room has wireless access) and you may bring any newspapers, magazines, books or movies you like.
 
Can I smoke?
 
Denver Health is a smoke-free campus and smoking is not permitted.
 
Is there a journal policy? Are they screened?
 
The ACUTE Center does not have a journal policy and they are not screened.
