Maxillofacial Fractures

The Plastic Surgery Service at Denver Health plays an essential role in the treatment of maxillofacial trauma patients who have facial bone fractures and/or simple-complex facial-scalp lacerations. 

There are many types of simple or complex fracture that we regularly treat. These include fractures of the nose and mid-face, fractures of the mandible (the jaw), zygomatic body and arch fractures (the cheek bone) and orbital blowout fractures (fractures around the eyes). 

Likewise, we offer repair of simple/complex facial lacerations. In patients with complex scalp wounds, we can provide reconstruction by using local scalp tissues or distant tissues to achieve closure.
