Denver Center Theatre Company plays important role at STEP - February 10, 2012

Theater & Outings Program

STEP staff, patients and their families have enjoyed some of Denver’s finest theatrical performances this year because of the generosity of the Denver Center Theatre Company.

Artistic Director Kent Thompson and his wife, Kathleen McCall Thompson, are generous supporters of Denver Health. Mrs. McCall Thompson, a Colorado native and principal actress with the theater company, serves on the board of directors of The Level One Society, an affiliated board to the Denver Health Foundation.

The Thompsons, ardent champions of mental health, made it possible for STEP patients and their families to watch outstanding plays, including “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Tom Sawyer,” and “The Liar.” Those stories -- coupled with the experience of attending a performance at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts -- allowed some of STEP’s adolescent patients to see how their creativity could be channeled into positive and beautiful work for their community.

STEP’s top-quality, individual and integrated care would not be possible without generous, ongoing donations from our supporters. Contact the Denver Health Foundation for more information about how to donate to STEP.
