Behavioral Health Services offers a variety of programs, services and resources for parents coping with children and adolescents suffering from emotional difficulties.
The Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Unit at Denver Health is a 16-bed unit for children and adolescents, ages 8-17 years, with significant emotional and behavioral health issues. Our approach to treatment is based on current medical research showing what works best for children, adolescents, and families in crisis. Once intensive, inpatient therapy is complete, care continues in the outpatient setting with customized treatment plans. Amenities: Adolescent inpatients have access to laptops, a full-time school teacher, full-time occupational therapy, psychological testing, family therapy, group therapy, art therapy, recreational therapy, music therapy, and outdoor recreational area.
The Child and Adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Team at Denver Health provides psychological services for children, adolescents and families. Our team members include psychiatrists, psychologists, and a clinical nurse specialist. Children between the ages of 2 and 17 can be seen for a wide variety of behavioral and emotional disorders, ranging from adjustment issues to major mental illnesses. Our focus is to provide effective, evidence-based treatment for children and families. Psychological evaluations are available for some cases.
