Mental Health Services (BHS) provides inpatient and outpatient therapy for emotional and behavioral disorders in patients of all ages. Our accredited program stands apart by the broad range of services offered and the high volume of patients we care for each year.
Denver Health provides a comprehensive program that includes dedicated facilities for both short-term and extended care:
Amenities: Adolescent and adult inpatients have access to laptops, full-time school teacher (for school-age patients), full-time occupational therapy, psychological testing, family therapy, group therapy, art therapy, recreational therapy, music therapy, and outdoor recreational area. Inpatient care is meant to support mind, body and spirit during recovery.
Our Outpatient Services provides substance treatment to more than 800 people annually. Denver C.A.R.E.S., a 100-bed detoxification center located off campus, receives 23,000 admits per year. Our team has the experience required to help patients and their families in times of crisis.
Mental Health programs are accredited by The Joint Commission. Clinical care, teaching and research are performed with American Psychiatric Association-approved psychiatry and American Psychological Association-approved psychology internship programs, National American Social Work-approved Social Work Internship and Colorado-approved Certified Alcohol training programs.
Our Mental Health program offers cutting-edge training opportunities, including a Clinical Psychology Internship and a Behavioral Health Counselor Training Program.
