If the employee's injury is minor and it is durring COSH business hours, direct the employee to the COSH clinic for medical care.  The COSH clinic located at 606 Bannock Street (corner of 6th and Bannock and is open Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.)

If an injury is serious or happens after hours, direct your employee to the nearest Emergency Room for medical care.

COSH is a part of Pinnacol Assurance's netowork. If you are a Pinnacol client, you can select COSH as one of your two options for care by calling Pinnacol or through Pinnacol's SelectNet online service.

COSH also works with a number of other worker's compensation insurance programs, consult with your insurance provider, or call us to see if COSH is part of your network. 

  Do I need to provide my employees with two choices for their occupational medical care for an on the job injury or illness? 

Yes, in 2007, a Colorado law was passed requiring employers to provide their employees with two choices in medical care for a work-related injury or illness.  These two options must be distinct options, not clinics that are a part of the same organization. Exclusions to the rule include organizations that have their own on-side occupational health clinic, as is the case with many hospitals and other health care organizations. 

  Why should I choose COSH?

• All COSH doctors are board certified in occupational medicine and Level II accredited. This means that they are experienced in treating and understanding medical injuries and illnesses that occur in the workplace.
• COSH is backed by an extensive health care network at Denver Health that includes a Level I trauma center, public health experts, orthopaedic specialists, occupational and physical therapists, state-of-the-art radiology department (CT scan and MRI) and other specialty providers that your employees can access.
• COSH employs two full-time Registered Nurse Case Managers that monitor each case to ensure that the employee makes a safe transition back to work. These case managers monitor the patient's progress, ensure the patient is receiving high-quality care and facilitate appointments in the Denver Health system to make the process much easier for both the employee and employer.
• For the aviation industry, COSH employs two aviation medical examiners to provide FAA exams.
• COSH works with each employer to ensure that labs are processed as requested, and protocols are followed when an employee is injured.  
• COSH is a member of the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC). This means that COSH adheres to specific criteria that promote high quality heath care to patients with work related injuries or illnesses and aid in preventing occupational and environmental hazards. There are only two clinics in Colorado who have received this prestigious designation.
