The typical length of stay at the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders is 14-21 days. Upon discharge, each patient will meet the following medical stabilization criteria for safe transition to an eating disorder treatment program:
ACUTE patients are strongly encouraged to continue their recovery at an inpatient or residential eating disorder treatment program once they are medically stable. ACUTE will assist with a transfer and coordination of care
It is important to begin making discharge plans as soon as possible. Keep in mind that many inpatient and residential treatment programs have extensive waiting lists and all have different insurance requirements.
Our treatment team will work with each patient to help choose a program that will best meet their needs and coordinate with the accepting facility for a seamless transition of care. If you have a discharge plan in place prior to admission at ACUTE, we will gladly work to help you transition to the facility of your choice as smoothly as possible
