How many calories am I drinking?
Some beverages that we consume contain very little nutrition. In some cases these types of fluids, if consumed in excess, can lead to weight gain. These beverages are often referred to as “empty calorie” fluids and should be limited.

Trying to lose weight?

Watch your calorie intake from fluids. By cutting out 500 calories a day from these fluids you
could loose up to 1 pound per week! This is about the 3 – (12 ounce) cans of regular soda.

Infants and children

Children under the age of one should not drink juice. Juice does not contain the good nutrition
needed for growth. Also, this could decrease your child’s hunger for the good food needed for
growth. If your child is over the age of one, limit the amount of juice to 4 ounces per day.
