Level I Trauma & Emergency Department Nursing Opportunities

The Denver Health Emergency Department is one of the busiest EDs in the region and is divided into several different areas including a 2-4 bed Fast Track unit, a 7 bed Central Evaluation Unit, a 58 bed Adult ED, and a 19 bed Denver Emergency Center for Children.

We utilize Registered Nurses and ED Technicians in our care delivery model. RNs rotate through all of the areas and have a strong working relationship with our Physician group. Our staff members take great pride in our Emergency Medicine Residency program, our dedication to providing outstanding Level I Trauma Care for the City and County of Denver.

The RN staff has growth opportunities such as additional training to become Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners or Critical Care Transport Nurses. Nurse to patient ratios fluctuate depending on the individual area and patient acuity. We have a strong ED Nursing Education program that provides TNCC, ENPC, and an orientation program tailored to individual learning needs.

We have a fairly stable staff and have not utilized any traveling nurses or agency nurses in our department in almost a decade. Nursing in our department is all about teamwork and patience. If you want to become a part of something great, we strongly encourage you to apply for our team.
