Denver Public Health (DPH) is nationally recognized for its expertise in testing for and treating sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). DPH physicians and nurses are on the cutting edge of research for prevention and treatment for a variety of STDs.
DMHC offers confidential testing, counseling, and treatment for sexually transmitted disease, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV. In addition, DMHC offers family planning services (various birth control methods including condoms, IUD, Plan B and Implanon). In some cases there is a small fee for services. Healthy Communities is an outreach service that offers free screenings for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia through collaboration with community organizations and non-profit clinics.
HIV Prevention and Outreach provides free and confidential testing for HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia in various community and commercial venues throughout Denver. Syphilis is Up is a campaign to raise awareness and increase testing for Syphilis in the metropolitan Denver area and throughout Colorado. COMPAS is a support group and educational forum for Spanish speaking men living with HIV. Meetings are held weekly along with other events and activities. For more information, please call 303-602-3619.
The Denver STD/HIV Prevention Training Center (PTC) is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide state-of-the-art training in the clinical diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections, and in evidence-based behavioral interventions. We also offer program support courses that are designed to improve agency capacity and to increase the quality of services delivered in community settings.
