Denver Health Immunization Clinic

About Us

The Immunization Clinic has provided vaccines to children and adults since 1986. The Clinic brings together a team of specialists in the field of childhood and adult immunizations, infectious diseases, research and other related specialties. Our clinic offers a variety of vaccines for children, adults, and travelers on a walk-in basis. Appointments are not required. We accept cash, personal checks, VISA, MasterCard and Discover credit cards.

The Denver Public Health Immunization Clinic is uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive immunization services to children and families, under the direction of Judith C. Shlay, MD, MSPH.

Children's Vaccines

The Vaccines for Children (VFC) program provides vaccines to eligible children 18 years of age and under, following the ACIP/AAP/AAFP pediatric immunization recommendations. Eligible children are those who are on Medicaid, have no insurance or are Native American/Alaska Natives. As participants in the VFC program, eligible children receive vaccines at $20 per shot or donation accepted. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or person who has the authority to give consent (a step-parent, adult relative of first or second degree kinship, or an adult child care provider who has care and control of the minor). Please bring the child's current immunization record.

Starting January 1, 2013, discounted vaccines can no longer be used on fully insured pediatric patients. After this date, each vaccine will cost $20 for children who are uninsured or who have insurance not covering vaccines. No child will be turned away for inability to pay. Insurance will be billed for children who have Medicaid.

If a child has private insurance that covers vaccines, they can still be sent to Denver Public Health Immunization Clinic. However, their parents/guardians will have to pay full price for the vaccine when they receive it and can submit paperwork to their insurance company for possible reimbursement.
