The Department of Surgery at Denver Health (DH) is seeking a Division Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This is an academic position that emphasizes the broad spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery patient care in both the outpatient and in-patient setting.
The Division of OMF Surgery has a resident training program that is centered at Denver Health. This is currently a one-resident per year accredited training program that is looking to expand. The service sees 3,200 patients per year, including a large outpatient clinic and a conscious sedation and procedure clinic.
Denver Health is a model integrated urban safety net health care system that serves as a Level I trauma center for the Rocky Mountain Region, is the busiest hospital in Colorado and has 8 primary care clinics, 15 school based clinics, correctional care facilities and an HMO. Denver Health has a formal affiliation for faculty and residents with the University of Colorado, School of Medicine.
Candidates must be Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and preferably have an MD degree and a current academic appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor. Ideal candidates will have a consistent and ongoing history of academic productivity, strong patient care and surgical skills, and a strong committed interest in resident education.
